Amp 3D Saddle a Big Hit With Media!

November 26, 2025

Product testers and editors are impressed with the new Amp 3D saddle, calling it exceptional, gorgeous and intelligent.

Released in April 2025, the Amp 3D saddle is made with 3D-printed gyroid-shaped infill padding and an ultralight carbon base. Designed as a performance alternative to the already well-reviewed Amp saddle, this lightweight saddle provides superior pressure distribution, optimized support, and race-proven design.

Unlike traditional foam padding, the G3D padding actively adapts to rider movement for targeted support. The precision-tuned 3D-printed infill uses variable densities across key pressure zones for optimal support where it’s needed at a competitive weight of just 147g. TThe result is a responsive fit with more uniform weight distribution.

Rouleur Tech Writer Simon Smythe found the Amp 3D to be “something special,” calling it “the next evolution in saddle technology.”

“‘Comfortable’ isn't the right word to describe it,” Smythe writes. “It's more that you simply forget it's there and get on with the job of pedaling – which tells me that the saddle is doing everything right.”

Smythe added that he was impressed by the saddle’s weight, shape, and construction. "The CADEX Amp 3D is a pro-level racing saddle and does everything it's claimed to do and more,” he wrote. “The weight at 147g is hugely impressive, the 3D printed gyroid cushioning is perfect for racing and performance riding, and the short-nosed geometry is designed to get the best out of the zonal cushioning. The build quality is exceptional – this is a premium saddle that has all the performance and looks a million dollars.

At Road.cc, tech writer Tom Weijand gave the Amp 3D saddle nine out of 10 stars, calling it the “best-looking saddle out there,” noting that it is “very, very light for a 3D printed saddle,” and writing that “objectively, it's a terrific saddle.”

“The CADEX Amp 3D is very light, especially for a 3D printed saddle,” he writes. “It's beautifully made, as was its predecessor, with the gorgeous carbon rails running almost the full length, providing as much sprung length as possible to improve comfort.”

Likewise, Cycling Weekly’s North American Editor Anne-Marije Rook gave the Amp 3D four and a half out of five stars, writing that it is “smartly engineered, impressively light, and offers firm, dynamic support with a more refined ride feel."

“There’s a noticeable increase in the saddle’s firmness to the point that it feels slightly taller than the original, and it even offers some damping effect,” Rook noted. “By that I mean that the road buzz is filtered out more effectively than with traditional foam. The sit bones feel cradled at every angle. Not in a sink-in, memory-foam way but in a firmly supported manner.”

Jordan Villella, Tech Editor at Bike Rumor, wrote that he tested the Amp 3D on every kind of terrain — road, gravel, mountain, and terrain — adding, “it’s now my saddle.”

“I particularly like the way the saddle supports the hips and rear when pushing into a hard effort,” he wrote. “The padding itself is generous, and although it doesn’t appear to be much, it’s sufficient to absorb any road vibrations. It might be the shape or the material makeup, but I swear I can feel less road chatter on the 3D version of the Amp.”

At Slowtwitch, Senior Editor Kevin Mackinnon found that the Amp 3D “lived up to the hype” when it came to providing support around his sit bones.

“What’s probably the best accolade I can give the Amp 3D is that I quickly stopped thinking about it and was able to focus on riding and my pedaling," Mackinnon wrote. "I especially like the narrow front end, which makes it really easy to pedal freely. Regardless of where I’m sitting, I feel like the saddle enhances my ability to provide lots of power to each pedal stroke.”
