Potter Wins SLT Arena Games Triathlon in London

CADEX-sponsored triathlete Beth Potter won the Super League Triathlon Arena Games in London, topping a world-class field of 10 athletes in the unique contest that saw competitors go head-to-head over three stages combining swim stages in a pool plus virtual indoor bike and run stages powered by Zwift.

The event, held at London’s Aquatic Centre at Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, was  the second-ever SLT Arena Games competition following last year's debut in Rotterdam. Competitors raced three stages combining swim, run and bike events in a format called Triple Mix.

It all came down to a final 1km run showdown between Potter, Ironman star Lucy Charles-Barclay, and Olympic-distance specialist Sophie Coldwell. The final stage three began with the three Brits tied at 18 points following the first two stages.

Charles-Barclay held a 3-second lead going into the final run, but Potter closed the gap on the treadmill in the final 600 meters. She crossed the virtual finish line first to win by a single point, her first major victory following last week’s announcement that she is now competing as a CADEX-sponsored athlete.
