Sunday, August 30, 2020

It was a winning weekend for CCC Team, with two of its riders scoring stage wins at UCI events. Czech rider Josef Černy won the Stage 4 time trial at Tour Poitou-Charentes en Nouvelle-Acquitaine in France, and Italian Jakub Mareczko won Stage 2 at the Tour de Hongrie.

Černy, who was recently crowned Czech national time trial champion for the second time, once again proved his strength against the clock as he powered to the stage win at Tour Poitou-Charentes en Nouvelle-Acquitaine on his Giant Trinity Advanced Pro TT bike with a CADEX Aero WheelSystem. The 27-year-old also took over the leader’s jersey with one day to go and ultimately finished second in the general classification. His teammate, American Joey Rosskopf, joined Černy on the podium in third place overall.

Meanwhile, other CCC Team riders were racing in Hungary over the weekend, where Mareczko sprinted to victory in Stage 2 of the five-day Tour de Hongrie, a 158km road race from Debrecen to Hajdúszoboszló. Mareczko won on his Giant Propel Advanced SL Disc team bike with a CADEX WheelSystem.
