Potter Wins World Triathlon Cup Haeundae!

25. listopada 2021.

CADEX-sponsored triathlete Beth Potter won the World Triathlon Cup Haeundae, beating fellow British competitor and training partner Kate Waugh by 15 seconds to take the sprint distance race along the coastline of Busan, South Korea.

Potter, Waugh and Zsanett Bragmayer of Hungary got off to a fast start in the 750-meter swim, exiting the water and going through the first transition with a lead over the rest of the field. Rolling through the bike leg, the trio established a 30-second gap over a chase group on the 20km course, which covered five laps on a 4km circuit.

Potter, riding with a CADEX 65 rear wheel and CADEX 42 front wheel, along with CADEX Race tubeless tires, rode comfortably to reach T2 with the leaders. The 29-year-old had an issue with her shoe in the transition, losing a bit of time at the start of the 5km run, but was able to recover and reel in Bragmayer and Waugh. She upped her pace in the last few hundred meters, extending her lead to take the win at the first-ever World Triathlon Cup race in Haeundae.

“It wasn’t quite perfect out there,” Potter said. “I lost my shoe in transition, so I had a bit of work to do on the run but I was able to get back and I am happy with the performance.”

Next up for Potter is the World Triathlon Cup race on October 31 in Tongyeong, South Korea.
