How did you start in triathlon?I was a runner but then I had a really bad knee injury. I took up cycling and swimming to keep fit while I couldn’t run. Then I wanted to celebrate getting back to running with a triathlon race. I was hooked from there!
What do you carry on a long ride?Good tunes; 90g of carbohydrate for each hour in chews form; water with precision hydration (1500 of salt per 500ml); spare underlayer and gillet depending on the weather; phone; money; credit card; headphones; lip ice
Favorite place to trainAt home in Johannesburg, the riding is so continuous. I have my swim squad here, the weather is amazing and we are at altitude. Oh, and I can see lions and giraffes when I run.
