CADEX Partners with Triathlon Champ Frederic Funk

tysdag 26. april 2022

CADEX has announced a new partnership with professional triathlete Frederic Funk. The 24-year-old German will train and race with CADEX WheelSystems including road and aero wheels of various rim depths depending on conditions and race distances.

Funk is coming off a breakout 2021 season that saw him win three races including the Men’s Middle Distance European Championship in Austria. He is primarily focused on 70.3/middle distance triathlons. Known for his power and speed on the bike, Funk has shown steady progress since he turned pro in 2018. His successful 2021 season saw him rise through the PTO world rankings from 41st to 19th.

“I’m excited to be working with CADEX as I look ahead to some big goals this year and beyond,” Funk said. “There’s a lot that goes into my preparation and performance, and when it comes to gear, the bike is obviously a key part of the equation. Knowing I’m on wheels that can deliver an advantage in terms of speed and aerodynamics gives me the confidence I need to succeed.”

This year Funk is again working with Dan Lorang, a renowned coach who has worked with multiple Ironman World Champions and serves as Head Coach of the Bora Hansgrohe WorldTour road racing team.

Looking forward at 2022 and beyond, Funk will continue to focus on major middle-distance events including the Ironman 70.3 World Championships in St. George, Utah, The Collins Cup in Samorin, Slovakia, and The Championship, also in Somarin.
