Rachele Barbieri (Liv Racing Xstra) and Dylan Groenwegen (Team BikeExchange-Jayco) made it a winning weekend for CADEX riders at two European road races over the weekend.

Riding her Liv Langma Advanced SL Disc team bike with a CADEX Road WheelSystem, Barbieri sprinted to the win at Omloop de Kempen, a one-day women’s race in the Netherlands. It was the second win of the season for the 25-year-old Italian.

“The girls were amazing today,” said Barbieri, praising her teammates for a well-executed leadout in the finale. “Amber was strong in the last kilometer and delivered me at about 150 meters from the line, where I launched my sprint and gave it all to the line. I am delighted I could finish off the work. This win can help us boost our morale for the next races.”

On the men’s side, Groenewegen also won with a powerful finishing sprint. Riding his Giant Propel Advanced SL Disc team bike with a CADEX Road WheelSystem, the Dutch rider capped a brilliant team effort when he dashed to a win on Stage 4 of the five-day Tour de Hongrie stage race. The 28-year-old launched his sprint from 200 meters out, beating fellow Dutch sprinter Fabio Jakobsen and Frenchman Rudy Barbier, who finished second and third respectively.

“It’s a really important win,” said Groenewegen. “It’s been a difficult season. We had two wins with the sprint team already but after that we had a lot of sickness and I also crashed [here], but today we had a bit of luck.”

The stage started and finished in the northern Hungarian town of Kazincbarcika and included three categorized climbs. After coming up short in their efforts to control the sprint earlier in the week, the team played it to perfection on the penultimate stage.

“Today we used everyone,” Groenwegen said. “In the last days we mixed thing up and got boxed in, and today we had freedom. The speed was really high in the bunch and on the climbs, but I could stay in the bunch and the team got me to the front.”
